As a member of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA), I am required to adhere to a code of conduct and ethics that have been in place for over a century. This code requires many disclosure requirements and obligations. I am also required to maintain minimum educational requirements, including ethics, real estate law, trends and practices. Being a REALTOR® member gives me access to Board MLS® systems, where most (but not all) commercial listings can be found.
So, if commercial listings are not on MLS®, where can we find them? Well, there are many commercial real estate brokerages that are NOT CREA members and so therefore you will not see their listings on MLS®. They will typically post their own listings on their own websites, or post their listings onto websites like Zillow or LoopNet. I have relationships with most of these non-member brokerages and cooperate with them in an effort to provide my clients with as much information as possible.
